break down, break up, break out, breakthrough

When you feel you are hitting a wall in your relationships consider the difference in these four concepts in how you respond to the blockage.

  • Break down: it’s like a flat tire. You stop. You cannot move forward or backward. You’re in a stagnant, sometimes involuting situation. This leads to disease, disconnection, and stagnation.  Following a break down you can discover a way to break through.
  • Break up: complete disconnection. Separation. Detached, unattached. This can be very positive when there is a stalled situation that has no mutually satisfying resolution.
  • Break out: again disconnection, freeing from a tethering or prison or domination. Following a Break out you may be able to discern a break through.
  • Break through: This is an elevation. A shift in consciousness. In this phrase there is a freeing from a tethering of inner belief that is holding you back. Breaking through requires mindfulness and paradigm shifting.

If you are in a situation that has stalled, where you are experiencing a need for change or a revolving unresolved conflict…consider which of these is your best action.

I encourage you to look at the last phrase as a guide this will allow you to find new solutions to old problems.

money grows on trees…

I wanted to share a positive message about how the universe can and does respond to intention and attention.

My daughter wanted to go to the St James Tearoom.
It’s a fancy luncheon place that serves old-fashioned tea sandwiches dressed in cream cheese, cucumbers and flowers, with biscuits and clotted cream.
It is one of her favorite things to do.
She wanted to go with her dad and he rescheduled his afternoon patients just to take her.

He knows how fast children grow up. he remembers the day his son preferred the company of his friends to him, and he just wasn’t ready for that yet with this one…not yet.

Granted we have been lucky, our son stayed close by through college to really eek out the last bits of play with my husband and me. But it is still hard to let go. To see them grow. To watch them do precisely what we are teaching them to do — become their best self and have full and happy adventures in far away places…

It was a beautiful afternoon, a slight breeze in the air. As they were getting out of the car my daughter noticed something in the drain by the curb…she ran over to it and with her most precious smile presented to her dad a hundred dollar bill.

She was delighted. He was dumbfounded.

She had been saving for something special. And now she had found a hundred dollar bill. She felt very lucky. She was. She had a lovely tea and enjoyed all the festivities. When their time was up she took home her uneaten desserts and her special find.

The power of this story is exemplified in her simple belief that the world will provide that which she needs, without question.

Esther Hicks/Abraham encourage each of us to simply ‘ask and it is given'(Hicks, 2004). The Law of Attraction as she calls the energetic law of the universe referencing that what you attend to, what you put your energy into is what you will receive.  When you find yourself stuck it is a result of you simultaneously putting energy into releasing  something that no longer has value while also holding to it.  You allow fear to have a voice as loud as faith.  When this happens the energy of both are sent your way and your resulting experience is a lack of movement, or no change.

I see this often when I work with couples.  Each party is holding to resentments, or habits, or fears while also saying he or she desires to release it and move forward.  They find themselves in the same argument.  They reflect and trigger each other’s fear and reactivity.  This is a waste of energy.  Not simply a waste of energy in the argument but also a waste of the use of your attention and intention the pathway to focus energy toward the creation of your desire.

Each of you reading this can have the same experience of money simply showing up in your life (growing on trees, ready for you to pluck like fruit and receive).

Here are the simple steps to make it so:

  • Take a breath, exhale and clear your mind.
  • Visualize what you desire.
  • Hold the visualization clear in your heart and mind for 30 seconds free of negativity or attachment to the process (reasons it cannot happen or ways it should happen or how you will feel hurt if it doesn’t happen).
  • Take a deep breath and as you exhale release your desire as you would a butterfly.
  • Write down what you saw and desire onto a piece of paper and put it in a box you keep near your bed while you sleep.
  • You may do this as often as you like.
  • When you gaze upon the box say a prayer that all that is good will come to you.

To strengthen the power of this process

  • Live your life with an open heart and a mindful attitude.  Keep negative beliefs out of your daily thought patterns.
  • Consciously release thoughts and habit patterns that do not serve you.
  • Forgive.
  • Be compassionate toward yourself and others.
  • Be mindful: When you are struggling, look at the problem within the context of that which is good in our life.

In these difficult times I find myself and others forgetting the power in prayer.  The power of faith and knowing.  The power of clear intention and attention.  I like to remind myself and those I love that the universe is working for me, I just have to get out of the way and let the good I have created flow to me.  I wish the absolute best to you.  in love and light, bg

gratitude as a form of cleansing

gratitude can be used as a form of cleansing

When you want to feel a shift in your relationship I suggest you shift your perspective.  Rather then focusing on what isn’t working, focus on what is truly positive about the relationship.

When you are upset with your partner and you feel hurt or angry, your mind starts to produce examples of what a horrible person your partner has been.  Pretty soon you are feeling like you are in a truly terrible relationship.

To create the space to have a better more mutually satisfying relationship you can try these few steps.

  • You do not have to ignore the negative thing that happened but you can shift your attention to the whole.
  • place your concern or displeasure aside and focus on the whole of the relationship
  • look at what is working, observe the ways your partner is there for you
  • Pay attention to what creates the negativity and see if you can shift your energy, positively.
  • Often the result is that you can feel happier, more secure, and then go to your partner and kindly, compassionately discuss the event and really find some solutions.

Energy flows through attention and intention.

Mindfulness can assist you in shifting the flow of energy from negative to positive.

It’s like a feedback loop of energy, if you feel bad and you focus on negativity, you actually feel worse rather than better.

One of the fastest ways to see what is working in your life and really uplevel your personal consciousness is to identify things for which you feel grateful.

This attitude of gratitude shifts your inner sense of security, from insecurity to secure.  It allows you to make choices from a centered, holistic place.  It aligns your sense of empowerment, courage, strength, and spiritual openness.

It actually creates the space for you to shift negative situations into positive ones because you will feel more empowered and you can actually see the problem within the context of the greater whole.

You operate more easily, honestly and more in your best interests from a secure, happy, compassionate place.

Any time you are faced with a difficult situation,

  • take an inner review of how you feel in the now, without going into the drama or trauma you are experiencing…
  • Consider how you feel toward yourself, your life, your relationships..From 1-10, 1 being joyful and secure and 10 being fearful, depressed, or in despair.
  • Okay, now write down where you are on that scale and put an emotionally descriptive word by it.

Great.

  • Now, write down 5 things for which you are grateful.
  • These can be five things about that person with whom you may be experiencing a sense of displeasure,
  • OR just five things,
  • include people or personal qualities that buoy your sense of peace and strength.

Once you have written down your 5 things do a review of how you feel.

Did it change?  For most people it does change in a positive way.  If you feel better but not completely in your center write down five more.  Do this until you feel yourself shift into center.  this feeling will feel balanced.  Solid internally and yet flexible without. Usually it will take twenty points of gratitude to get you to your centered space, compassionate and whole.

It isn’t that the things that may not be working in your life start working, it’s that you have refocused your energy on the positive so that you can feel strengthened to change the things you can and accept the things you cannot change.  It is a mindfulness reset.

This is a great exercise to employ any time you start to feel down and just can’t get out of the rut of negativity.

You can practice this daily, even when you aren’t feeling down but just as a prevention tool to keep you centered.

Practice this daily.  Simply identifying what you are grateful for in your life, in your relationships, in your work, and the environment around you.  You are developing your mindfulness muscle; you are developing your capacity to see from an integrated and centered perspective. This practice increases your capacity for empathy and forgiveness.

Also, as a habit don’t focus on what isn’t working first.  Identify everything that is working in each of your relationships and then you can place the problem within the context of gratitude.  It will help you to be solution focused.  You will have greater compassion for those with whom you feel conflict and be able to own your own part of any negative situation.

And for those of you who may feel that this practice might make you accept situations that are not good for you, let me assuage your concerns.  This practice allows you to actually get out of truly negative situations as well as increase the positivity of those situations that are mutually empowering and good for you.  It is a practice in clarity and wholeness.

Note:  If you sit down to attempt this practice and you just can’t feel positive about yourself, or your partner, or your situation.. try reseting through toning (sound), and smells.  Energy has a lightly substantial quality to it – so if you just had a fight or just had the same fight for the hundredth time you may need to clear the air.

You can do this with sound, ring a bell, or chime a toning bowl to clear your physical environment.  Or simply tone with your voice the vowel sounds, eh, ee, ah, O, oo, several times over with increasing breath.  This will center you. sound healing shifts the vibration, elevates consciousness May 6, 2014

For a shift through smell you may use essential oil sprays of any citrus for anger and depression.  Or rose geranium for apathy or despair. Or clove, lavender, or pine to create a sense of serenity and forgiveness.

Salt has the capacity to suck up negative energy, so you may throw a little salt on the ground to help get the space to neutral.  And if you feel that the negative energy is still on you, try washing your hands with a little grapefruit wash or a dab of baking soda.

Once you feel that sense of calm,  resume the practice of focusing on what is working in your relationship first, before you put your attention to solving the problem.

Cleansing is the most important habit for health.  It helps to keep your homes, environment, bodies, thoughts, and spirit free of toxins.  It helps to unclog stagnation and release the garbage that holds you back from living happy, mutually satisfying constantly elevating lives. You can think of the attitude of gratitude as a way to recycle your habitual thinking into new thinking that derives from that centered space within you to give life to your relationships, your evolving self and your environment. in love and light, bg

the space between mindful-breathing and will…staying within the threshold of calm strength

Most of you recognize that the integration of spirit, mind, and body is a multi-level, multi-phase experience. It is dynamic, changing responsively to your inner and outer environment.

Recent events have further elucidated for me the subtleties of this dynamic process.

Participating in a fifty mile race after three weeks on the bike. To my surprise while participating in the long ride, I began to feel unable to continue…my friends encouraged me to use my yogic breath and my experience of inner peace to press on… Ultimately I noticed it was my will that gave me the strength to continue.

Re-training myself for a distance swim for my first triathlon sprint. During the swim training, I discovered an underlying degree of anxiety that was exacerbated by loss of breath — it projected me right back to an earlier event of almost being choked when I was raped as a teenager.  It was shocking and almost uncontrollable to keep swimming – my body was fighting for life while I could clarify that it was not actually happening, my heartrate ramped up my breath became flat and labored…I couldn’t swim properly…Ultimately in the swim training it was my inner breath and my yogic training that assisted me in calming my fear and re-integrating myself into the now, to release the energy of the rape experience connected to ‘air-hunger’.

Having  endured significant sexual harassment throughout my life, I have made significant efforts, with success, to clear the vestiges of effect from this trauma, and to eradicate the insecurities that could have colored how I interacted in relationship and partnership. This information is further explained in the section on  MAAPS insecurity drivers in my book* Turning Me to We: the Art of Partnering with mindfulness.

These recent events focused how the trauma vestiges can effect your relationship with yourself.

As could be expected, the rape was the most problematic to clear.  It was held within my psychic, emotional, and cognitive memory as well as my physical body.  To this day I have a holding in my upper body that is still reminiscent of the position in which I was pinned down. This is not unusual for individuals who have survived a rape to have these various types of physical changes. I have had success in clearing this to a fairly deep level physically, emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically.

I have had the great fortune of applying mindfulness, psychotherapy, and forgiveness toward my history of harassment and the rape…as such I have created warm loving non-abusive relationships with my partner and friends.  It is for this reason that I spend so much time training, teaching, and modeling mindfulness and forgiveness as part of a healthy lifestyle individually and in relationships/partnerships.

With this being stated, I was quite surprised by the deep level of fear and anxiety that exhibited in myself during the ride and swim training.   It speaks to the depth of effect in the spirit, body, mind web that is within human consciousness; and how deeply trauma plumbs to the center of one’s being.

Humans are dynamic, multi-dimensional beings.

The process of clearing trauma can take years and releases in layers.

Trauma for one being may not be traumatic for another.

Spiritual trauma is the most debilitating, as spirit connects humans to the greater universe of energy.  When spiritual trauma is directly bound with physical trauma, thinking can skew off into a place that could be described as ‘hell on earth’.

Over the years I have noted that individuals who have intense anxiety suffer far more than those around them…because they do not have the peace that comes with centeredness…the peace you experience with centered mindful meditation and breath.

The lesson of this recent athletic training is that each challenge requires an integrated spirt, body, mind response.  And, that balance is affected by the vestiges of previous traumas or incorrect correlations of power.

Human beings are spiritually and willlfully driven.

  • It is your ego*/ will that can pull you through a difficult challenging task– that is where hard work and discipline are kings and queens.
  • And, it is your spiritual inner faith and knowing that is required in other challenges….
  • (ego as defined as the balanced mediator of your personality, mediator between id and superego – see Gineris, Turning Me to WE, The Art of Partnering with Mindfulness, p 186, Rebalancing: Empathy, Ego and Spirit).

The space between mindful breathing and will is the ground where all battles are fought.  This is in a phrase then entirety of Sun Tzu’s The Art of War* * to know yourself, know your enemy, to know when to act and when to be quietly strong as you prepare to act….

  • Staying within the threshold of calm is an act of faith and will. Success requires both dynamically and rhythmically in play.
  • The practice of yoga can teach you this through your use of breath to move through challenges.
  • The practice of mindful meditation can teach you this as you breath yourself into neutrality, compassion and the now.
  • The practice of athletic training can teach you this if you understand the relationship between will and allowing, remaining centered in your integrated spirit, mind and body.

If you struggle with anxiety, use these practices to bring you into a more dynamic and flexible relationship with your will (discipline/Qi) and your faith (spirit/breath/Shen), you will find more peaceful and powerful successes in all you undertake to accomplish. Namaste, in love and light, bg

Sound Healing 2; feel the vibration, allow the shift, elevate your consciousness

Sound waves, ocean waves, and seismic waves are all called mechanical energy waves.  These have the ability to move through matter. Vibration and sound have the power to heal.

Sound is a powerful healer.

Consider the effect certain songs have on you. The effect of a song is not only related to your psychological connection to it in the development of your life, but also to the tone and harmony of it, and how it relates to your internal energetic systems.  Classical music and the Beatles have the ability to create a sense of balance, this is directly related to the healing power of sound.

This is the meditative and balancing power of chanting and toning. Healing Sound, Instinctive Health Medicine, 2.23.14

All the senses have a healing effect.  Sight, Taste, smells (scent), Touch and Sound are all powerful avenues to balance your physical body.  Each of these senses offers an avenue to connect Spirit, Mind, and Body.

Taste:  In Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, specific flavors positively align your body based on which elements are out of balance.  Bitter for Fire (Red): Heart/small Intestine channel (think discernment and a lack of joy or out of balance mania); Sweet for Earth (yellow-orange): Spleen/stomach channel disharmonies (think worry, pensiveness, depression); Pungent or Bland for Metal (white): Lung/large Intestine disharmonies ( think OCD, grief, lack of breath, difficulty with holding on or letting go; difficulty in choosing due to not knowing authentic self); Salty for Water (black): kidney/Bladder disharmonies ( think fear, phobias, stuck due to inability to choose best action due to fear, staying in harmful situation, deep insecurity due to life/death trauma); Sour for Wood (green): liver/gall bladder disharmonies (think anger, shame, rage, inability to forgive, hyper-vigilance).  These tastes help to bring into balance the interactive five element systems.  You can find more here:  http://www.yogitimes.com/article/five-chinese-elements-cleanse-release-clarify/

Sight/Color: There are many ways you can use color to help in healing.  You may use colors in reference to food, as above.  There are specific mantras and chakra connections for specific colors.  See more here:  https://instinctivehealthmedicine.com/2013/06/22/life-lessons-in-relationships-energy-and-color/ .  Additionally focus on positive images, make an effort to dismiss and release negative images.  There are studies that show that humans (and other highly developed mammals, elephants, dogs, dolphins and whales, and chimpanzees, gorillas, and monkeys) have mirror neurons.  These mirror neurons are in our brains and affect how we choose to be in the world; what we see affects our perceptions at an integral level.  So the more you can see positive, interactive, high level consciousness behavior the more you will actualize this kind of civilization.  More about this in future posts.

Smell/scent is a powerful healing tool as well.  Consider that the most powerful sense is smell for memory and recognition.  Partners often find the scent of their partner to be the most appealing aspect of their connection. Babies know their mother by her scent.  The brain connection for your olfactory sense is directly connected to your limbic system which underscores the visceral aspect of this sense.  I use Do-terra oils in my practice to cleanse and release unwanted or unneeded negative beliefs held in the auric field.  Here are a few suggestions:  https://instinctivehealthmedicine.com/2010/03/11/energy-breath-and-balance/ .

Touch/the feeling sensation has been studied for many years.  Healing touch is one of the most powerful healing tools.  This is related to both the psychological experience of not being alone and the desire for humans to feel connected, (one of the primary softwire drivers in the human brain system, as supported by the importance of mirror neurons and how they drive the development of empathy), and to the physical system of your muscles.  Along your skin and within the muscle is a set of nerves they are constantly informing your brain about situations as safe or not and what is happening to the body, so that your brain can take an action.  These systems fire when there is discomfort or an injury.  They turn off or return to a lower setting when the area that is firing is touched…consider the immediate tendency to touch your finger (knee, hip. shoulder etc) when you bump or hit it.  Or how this action calms a child when s/he is injured…indeed that is a perfect example of the healing power of touch.  Resetting a system that has ben firing for years is the work involved in the treatment of myofacial trigger points, fibromyalgia and post traumatic stress disorder. Massage, acupuncture, and Reiki all utilize methods to reset the body through touch.

So let’s talk about sound.  Sound is a powerful healing tool.

If sound waves are mechanical energy waves that can move through matter, then it clarifies how sound can clear out and heal blockages in your chakras, your physical body, and your emotional and auric fields.

Sound in conjunction with color, scents, and mindful meditation to clarify your thinking work together very efficiently.  I have found that the longer a block has been manifesting in your body the more difficult it is to release it.  Children respond very quickly to resetting through sound and smell.  When you combine tools you have a more efficient and less drastic release, almost as if the negativity simply peels off and is transformed.

There are specific sounds for each chakra:

chakranoteswebc,d,e,f,g,a,b are the notes for the seven chakras typically identified.  The toning bowls that sound at each of these notes can assist in healing these specific chakras.

In addition, my Kototama teacher, dr. Jeffrey Meyer, taught me that chanting the vowels: eh, ee, ah, O, oo in a repeated fashion with one breath can align the various chakras through aligning the five elements in your visceral and etheric system.

You can listen to a small scale of this chanting here: Healing Sound.

When you are feeling out of balance you can use this technique to center yourself and align your physical and spiritual self.  You may notice certain sounds are easier, stronger, or more difficult this gives you an idea of where you may be out of balance.  As you develop an understanding of the connection between the sounds and the elements, you may utilize this connection and sound to heal yourself.

Even without this level of awareness you can feel yourself strengthening and balancing by repeating the sequence with your breath until you feel the shift and rebalancing.  Listen again to the above link, you may notice the difference in strength and alignment from the first to the third toning in the above audio link.

There are crystal bowls for c#, d#, f#, g# and b#.

chakrasnotesastrologyThere is evidence that new  energy centers are developing within our chakra system that correspond with these sharp notes.  These can assist you in developing your capacity for breath, the diaphragm chakra (d#) or  in opening the thymus or higher heart chakra (f#) which can assist with increased immunity, as well as the Zeal point or Mouth of God chakra at the base of the occiput,( g#), which assists with compassion and telepathy, a deeper connection with spirit and the universe.  I have not investigated the evidence about the relationships between these centers and astrology, but this figure offers a sense of the new chakra configuration and sounds.  I have been using the e, f#, and g# in my practice and find these sounds to be profoundly healing.

Here is a link to all the newly developing chakras and sounds, crystal singing bowls.

chakra mantrasAs you are developing your understanding of these bowls, chakras and sounds, you may also want to address blockages in your thinking or beliefs.

Work with the first set of chakras first, root, sacral, and solar plexus as these will help to keep you grounded as you move into higher energetic realms.  You can use color to amplify the strength of these chakras.  Meditation on the chakra will enhance your clarity about what you need and how well balanced you are.

You may want to work with these blockages by simply using cognitive inversions, reframing the difficulties into gifts and aligning with the power of gratitude, compassion, and forgiveness.

Acupuncture, energy work, therapy, journaling, yoga and breathwork are all helpful in realigning with your true power and integrated self.

Yoga is an excellent source of support, because it utilizes breath attention, and intention in an integrated way to align your spirit, mind and body. Through Yoga you are increasing the amount of light you are pulling into your energetic system.  It helps to lengthen your spine so that you can actually hold more light.

Recognize that you have the power to heal within in you simply through accessing your internal sensory guidance system.  You are a sensory, spirit being.  Develop and exercise your muscle of attention and intention this will strengthen your intuition and you access to health immediately.

You can heal through these methods and develop your own model of resetting your balance through them.  See more here:  https://instinctivehealthmedicine.com/2013/04/10/faith-vs-fear/ .

Breath, toning and sound, clarification of your intent, all, will create an opportunity for you to elevate your consciousness.  Embrace the power to heal within yourself and clear the path to a new level of consciousness in thought and action. in love and light, bg

Healing sound

I have been using crystal toning bowls in my practice recently, to shift negative energies out of the various chakras and to accelerate the opening of new chakra centers.

There are specific sounds for each chakra:

chakranoteswebc,d,e,f,g,a,b are the notes for the seven chakras typically identified.  The toning bowls that sound at each of these notes can assist in healing these specific chakras.

In addition, my teacher dr. Jeffrey Meyer taught me that chanting the vowels: eh, ee, ah, O, oo in a repeated fashion with one breath can align the various chakras through aligning the five elements in your visceral and etheric system.

The sound is like this:

When you are feeling out of balance you can use this technique to center yourself and align your physical and spiritual self.  You may notice certain sounds are easier, stronger, or more difficult this gives you an idea of where you may be out of balance.  As you develop an understanding of the connection between the sounds and the elements, you may utilize this connection and sound to heal yourself.

Even without this level of awareness you can feel yourself strengthening and balancing by repeating the sequence with your breath until you feel the shift and rebalancing.  Listen again to the above link, you may notice the difference in strength and alignment from the first to the third toning in the above audio link.

chakrasnotesastrologyThere is evidence that new  energy centers are developing within our chakra system that correspond with these sharp notes.

Acupuncture, energy work, therapy, journaling, and breathwork are all helpful in realigning with your true power and integrated self.

Yoga is an excellent source of support, to help you balance your integrated spirit, mind, body fields as you are increasing the amount of light you are pulling into your energetic system.  It helps to lengthen your spine so that you can actually hold more light.

Have fun with this.

Discover what sounds are healing to you.  These may change over time and as a result of various circumstances.

Recognize that you have the power to heal within in you simply through toning and sound.  Embrace the power to heal within yourself and clear the path to a new level of consciousness in thought and action. in love and light, bg

Facing Fears, Disarming bullies

Heart pounding in your chest when you look at or think about someone?  It might be love..

or it might be fear.  How you interpret that pounding is context.

To face your fears and disarm the power of bullies you have to shift your interpretation of that pounding from fear requiring flight…..

  • to acknowledgement requiring mindful action…
  • and then to love seeking an opportunity for recognition.

Facing fears is knowing your self and then seeing, understanding, and clarifying how you fit into the situation you are facing.

This is best done, gently and quietly, allowing your heart to guide your actions.

Fears derive from  a lack of knowing…

  • a habit-reaction to another experience that feels similar…
  • control or mis-allocation of energy toward protection…
  •  mis-understandings.. of yourself and expectations, or  of another and expectations (or both)
  • an inappropriate paradigm that doesn’t take into account the whole picture of ‘what is’.

Love is indeed the best treatment for fear.

But getting from the fear to love can be blocked or feel impossible if you haven’t developed your internal path to grace.

To a lesser degree getting from anger or insecurity to forgiveness and gratitude is also difficult.

These steps can help.

  • Set aside time to discover who you are through breath, meditation, journaling. yoga, and other creative pursuits.
  • Practice using the four agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, to reset your placement of power august 15, 2012 post four agreements plus one (this strongly diminishes your sense of fear).
  • Set your internal personal goals as paramount for your energy and behavior so that you are not spending oodles of time meeting others expectations but rather directly focusing your energy and resources on what brings you joy.  This returns you to empowerment rather than a sense of smallness and disempowerment. It moves you out of reactivity and into proactivity.
  • Accept that your path to ‘greatness’ doesn’t follow the same path as others and embrace your friends’ successes with the sense that this increases your chance of greatness too (rather than experiencing the sense of competition or limited chances to greatness).
  • Focus love and compassion toward yourself and others.
  • Release the need to prove your point.

Be willing to adjust your position as you receive new information.  Be free to grow, change, and uplevel your understanding and consciousness.

  • Receive criticism from others as if it is coming from someone who deeply and truly loves you, this shifts your receptiveness, because it disallows a sense of defensiveness  – then you can ascertain if there is a grain of truth in it or of no value.

The idea of someone trying to overpower you is co-created.  You and she co-create the drama.  You can disarm the overpowering fear by following these steps.  In most circumstances this will free you to create a different more equally empowering situation.  If it doesn’t, if the other person really wants control, just remember you have free will in how you want to participate.

You cannot engage your free-will when you are in a reactive mode.  Pay attention to what causes reactivity in you. Heal that and you can remove the target from your back for those who are consciously and unconsciously engaging in this fear promoting behavior.

This will free up a huge amount of energy for you to create precisely what your heart desires.

Make real efforts to not act as if you are somehow more evolved than another, that actually is a provocative/bullying tactic. in love and light, bg

Living in the Light…be a rebel

merkabah portalLiving in the Light is more than being positive.

Living in the Light is knowing that you are loved, knowing that you are protected, knowing that you are in sync with your higher self and higher power goals.

The power to change your world, and by transitive property the world around you, is in your mindset.  Your perception of yourself at the center of your world.  This is not a narcissistic centeredness, it is a grounded and upleveled understanding that what you experience as truth is what you see.

So if you experience as truth the world is against you and you are a victim, this will be what you identify in all your interactions and therefore, what you will reinforce as truth.  You will enhance the energy of lack and being invisible or unappreciated.

However, if you stand in the center of your life, and expect good things to be your experience you will observe miracles all around you.  This requires a willingness to eschew fear, ‘what if’, ‘if only’, and anxiety as your experience of the world.  It requires an unbounded  willingness to see how the world is working on your behalf and have faith in the spiritually upleveled aspects of the world around you.  This requires compassion, lovingkindness, and a focus on connection rather than competition.  So, when you hear hatefulness spewing from another rather than reacting in hatefulness, you send to that person love and compassion; you allow yourself to hear the pain, fear, or misunderstanding underneath that hate so that you can assist in his or her elevation by simply responding with love and compassion.  Remember, a fight can only continue when you punch back.  If you do not engage in the fight with reactive hatred or anger, you open the space for understanding, peace, forgiveness and light to enter.

In the animal world, the alpha male and alpha female exert power over the group through competition for limited resources.  Often physical strength and creation of alignments push out others and create a space where the alpha exerts control.  Today we simultaneously label this bullying and reinforce it with the according of power — this mixed message of  it being labeled bad when a little boy or girl is mean but give power to the winner of a very negative political race — makes it so that the societal message is that playing dirty, winning at all costs and bullying is wholly and completely acceptable in fact honored, so that living in the light is actually going against the norm in this current alpha society.

Our political world has used this style of power to control how the population makes decisions about who is to be in power – using whether something is ‘cool’ as a standard of what to follow.  The political world, the publicist, the hollywood environment, uses this to market the buying population and focuses on pre-teens, teenagers, young adults, and those who want to be perceived as hip like these youngsters to control power positions, and make money, even controlling the population to make decisions that are not in their individual best interests.  Even the world of spirit, and spiritual health has been overrun with this idea of cool, propaganda for profit.  Unfortunately this has made it so there are many groups that use this combination of alpha group power and spiritual upleveling in cohesion so that it is cool to be part of some religions but not others rather than encouraging an overall elevation of spiritual interaction and action on the planet.  You can see this in how the political arena tries to scapegoat and denigrate certain people for their religious beliefs and uplevel others that will increase their level of cool.

Living in the light is applying a standard of true spirituality, sincere faithful attention with compassion and lovingkindness toward all beings, as each struggles to find his or her place in the world.  So that an enlightened approach, to those who see the world differently from yourself, is to have a willingness to understand their paradigm and then look for ways that you and she agree, so that a true and real conversation can be had rather than a power struggle for power in the marketplace.

Love is the great balancer and neutralizer.  Lovingkindness and compassion allow you to live in the light in your approach to all human beings, animals, and plants.  It is through this method that the earth shall survive.  It is though this method that balance can be reset in the natural earth, because it is the beta mentality that is what is needed for the global society and earth balance to happen.  The Beta and the Omega look to balance the Alpha, but our political environment has gone too far with the alpha power structure.  This hierarchical style cannot contain the global needs of the earth.  The beta-mentality looks for connections, is inclusive and accepting.  The omega-mentality is playful, diffuses negativity, and creates an environment for letting off steam without reprisal.  The alpha-mentality is most useful in third-dimensional thinking of right/wrong, good/bad, and limited resources, when there is danger from without and there is a need for absolute power, however the dependence on this style of leading, solely, has allowed for oppression, divisiveness, out-grouping, and propaganda to the detriment of global societies.  This is not to say that the way forward is through the social-democratic, progressive beliefs of socialism or an over-dependence on governments,  Unfortunately these policies enhance the use of propaganda and alpha-style mentality; they create a different style of hierarchy, not centered in the light or spirit.  Rather than increase the use of true cohesiveness, connectedness, and mindfulness they diminish even further the importance of elevating all and create a different societal structure that will ultimately create an even smaller degree of peace.

Much of my writing is about paradigm shifting and mindfulness as a way of dealing with not only individual, but also small group and large group interactions.  These ideas are infused in many religions, many philosophies both east and west and many successful groups.  Not one belief system holds the patent on the idea of mindfulness; it part of Taoist, Judeo-Christian, Hindu, Native American and many other religious and philosophical tenets.

To live in the light is to be continually bringing yourself back to neutral and to discover within yourself a positive bent in all that you do so that you are actually shining light onto others and yourself to bring in the beta-mentality of connection and uplevel capacity of the whole group.

Be a rebel.  Make a decision today to lighten your perspective,

  • move into the light in all our perceptions
  • eschew competition, fear, limitations, and division,
  • look beneath the powerful emotional arguments of the propaganda and publicity around you, look at what is considered cool, and see if it fits with what actutally uplevels your world, and the society at large
  • look for, and allow yourself to see, the underlying goal, of the denigration of specific groups, to acqurie political power
  • use mindfulness, lovingkindness, compassion and the beta or omega mentality in all of your interactions

In this way you will create peace within yourself and experience connection and understanding in your world.  Love is the answer.  Love is the way.

in love and light, namaste, bg

Create Space for Joy, 3 steps

Hello and Welcome!

Real joy heals.

Here are three simple steps to create space for Joy to come into your energetic, personal field and Balance your Life.

  • One remove fight from your vocabulary.
  • Two focus on your strengths rather than your limitations.
  • Three Be Grateful…even when you are in dire circumstances.

Whether you experience Joy or not is completely up to you…

What happens to you is outside of your control HOW you respond to what happens to you is COMPLETELY within your control.

Joy is a matter of attention and intention.

Practice these three steps every day and you will create space for JOY.

Your environment may not change immediately but as you change…and because all of life is a system, once you change your joyous effect on your environment will positively affect everyone and everything within it.

This works in both directions, choosing joy creates more pleasing (and less negative experiences) and choosing negativity begets more negative experiences.

If you want to Change the world, or just change your world…BE the change…. change your perspective, change your language…be in your relationships what you want to experience in relationship.

Change how you see, look for connection, understanding, and moments of perfection.  Have that attention and intention drive how you see and you will experience more space for Joy.

Three steps: remove fight from your vocabulary, focus on your strengths, and be grateful practiced daily create space for Joy.

I am deeply grateful for your continued interest and fantastic work on the planet. in love and light, bg

II: Heal your Soul, Move Spirit from facilitator to Leader

Hello and Welcome!

This is second in a series of articles. II:  Heal your Soul, Move Spirit from facilitator to Leader.

I. Change your Attitude, II:  Heal your Soul, III:  Balance your Life

II:  Heal yout Soul, Move SPIRIT from facilitator to leader and your direct point of focus toward meditation, Breath, prayer, and a search for unity

Meditation, Prayer, Breath daily or twice daily to redirect and refocus your energy, attention, and intention.

Spirt focus, clarity, and connection as a primary focus connects spirit, mind, and body, so that you create what you desire rather than avoiding what you fear.  It increases access to your balanced, core-self and increases your ability for critical thinking, flexibility, and quick responsiveness.

merkabah portalBelly breathing alone can reset your cells, mood, emotion, realign and center you.

Brain scans on long-term meditators show that regions associated with attention, self-awareness and sensory processing are thicker in meditators, and that this can offset age-related cortical thinning: this is strong “evidence for … cortical plasticity” (Lazar SW, Kerr CE, Wasserman RH, et al. Neuroreport. 2005;16(17):1893-1897).

Thinking about what happens with stress, meditation and breathwork diminishes and eradicates the negative effects of stress.  When Mind is in control the power to reduce stress is limited; when your leader is Spirit the opportunity to engage in mindful meditation allows for powerful healing effects.Albuquerque skies

“The regular practice of meditation may have neuroprotective effects and reduce the cognitive decline associated with normal aging.” (Pagnoni G. Cekic M. Neurobiology of Aging. 2007;28(10):1623-7).

Evidence found as a result of mindful meditation:

  • –>>Increase in cortical thickness in areas assoc. w/ attention, interoception, & sensory processing such as prefrontal cortex and right anterior insula;
  • using this network to attune to internal senses via the social neural circuits involved in interpersonal attunement, including the middle prefrontal regions, insula, superior temporal complex, and the mirror neuron system->> all from mindful meditation practice.
  • AND, more positive Amygdala responses include:  positive affect regulation by optimizing prefrontal cortex regulation of the amygdala including Left sided anterior activation,
  • this allows development of a tendency toward positive emotional responses & approach /reward oriented behavior,
  • (which aids in decreasing symptoms of depression and anxiety)(Applied Mindfulness Current Psychiatry Vol8.no12p40 2010).

Consider the power of the serenity prayer:  release what you cannot control, shift what you can control, discern the difference.

Any of these 7 activities can increase your spiritual meditative connection:  lao tzu

  1. Soothing/meditative music; singing
  2. Meditative walking, running; hiking,
  3. dancing; Tai Qi, Qi Gong
  4. yoga practice;
  5. Prayer; focused breathing, meditation
  6. Gardening, meditative focus while performing repetitive motion chores,
  7. Any activity that brings mind/thinking to neutral and offers a spiritual connection with whatever feels spiritual to you
